thats a really solid arm day i like that setup! ill have to try it. idk how you feel but the bigger my arms have gotten, the more i hate training them, its a weird love-hate relationship. just not as exciting as pressing or squatting etc

thats exactly why i only go to the ‘all you can eat’ sushi places. i know ill spend $50 minimum otherwise. 100 must have been a crazy amount of sushi!

yes haha i watch those “Roman fritz week” training videos in german. i dont know what youre saying 85% of the time but some of it i can pick up on. and the training footage speaks for itself

im excited to watch those new videos roman! i still go back and watch those team-andro videos from several years ago all the time

so your goal is 290 – will you start your next prep when you hit that weight or will you stay around there for a bit?

    time to eat!!

    Matt –
when/what periods of time or phases, if any at all, do you think its more beneficial to take a “John Meadows-like” approach to progressive overload (i.e. adding intensity techniques like dropsets, iso holds, partials, negatives, bands, etc) versus simply adding additional weight to the bar?

in reply to: Bringing Back The Nineties #4422

i really respect your mindset and approach you explained in your latest video Rex. no cheap qualifications – going for the win.
based on how things are going, do you foresee yourself returning to training twice a day again eventually?
290lbs will look fucking nuts, i cant wait to see that!

hope youre feeling better now matt. it always sucks to take a step back from training due to being sick but at least you gave your CNS a break

i love the ab machines and hammer makes a great one – slow hard contractions, full range of motion, stretch and squeeze. i see people do double the weight i will do for 50 half bouncing reps, while im using half the weight failing at 10-12 perfect reps. the same people make NO progress at all except fuck with their lower back. i think every commercial gym is like that

smart move roman. if it hurts don’t do it. it took me years to finally adhere to that principle

plus high volume has gotten you this far and won you a procard.

Hey Rex, how is the bicep healing? and hows the weight gain progress coming along?

Love EZ bar rows! 100lbs added per side is fucking strong!

I saw ben pakulski do the reverse grip ez bar rows bent over leaning with butt against a wall – those have been an absolute favorite of mine for the last month – no cheating and hard contractions
