I’ve now been cleared to start training both sides again within ranges that do not cause pain. Thrilled to say this!

I am picking my loads with what is now challenging or feels safe for my right side bit my left side is still getting stimulated.

I am going to go over more of my approach as I get into now working my way back. What I really want to encourage you guys is regardless of rep range the effort within those rep ranges is what matters most. As long as you are progressing within that given rep range good things will come of it!

I am going to be working my way back at higher rep ranges because these are safer, less joint stress and overall less risk. That being said if I am getting stronger in the 15-20’s over time it will still have the same effect on my body as if I were progressing in the 6-8’s but with much less risk now!

    Question from Ayoub

    Hey Matt,

First things first i want to congratulate you for the remarquable work you’re doing here. I followed you on IG for some time now and just recently stumbled upon your app. Keep up the good work man .

Now before asking my question here are some infos about me, 28 yrs old 6.14ft tall weighing 236lbs . Been training for a while but never competed and i want to make that possible this year. I had several cycles in the past of various compounds… being type 1 diabetic since age 17 , lets just say i had easier access to some compounds than most people around. But i can stand here as a reminder that gear and substances are not what makes physiques because through time i went rollercoaster from fit to fat to skinny to fit again lol (of course diabetes has a lot to do with it but anyways).

I am on trt 125mg test E every 5 days along with 12.5mg Aromasin Eod , i use GH on training days preworkout at 5ius and pop some caber every while and then when i feel i need it. along with that i started anadrol two weeks ago at 50mg/day and this week i went up to 100mg. At first i was planning to stay on these compounds non stop (except anadrol that i will drop after 4 weeks).

But i rethinked the whole stuff and i’m to the point where i am actually wondering if it would not be a better idea to up the dose of test to go to cycle rather than trt mode while adding few other compounds.

Overall my goal would be to reach 253lbs in around 2 to 3 months , i’m looking to gain some decent amount of lean muscle , the kind of amount that can make you overlook the fat you take in the process… otherwise just gain some lean muscle but still stay preserved from gaining fat. Because being diabetic already makes me so prone to fat (diet wise i cant go too high on fats on behalf of carbs and vice versa… i’m locked in an even macro distribution due to my condition). Basically i want to gain muscle and strength.

The compounds i have available are the following : Test enanthate, Tren enanthate, Nandrolone decanoate, Anadrol, Dbol, oral winny, aromasin, caber, Isulin (very fast acting fiasp), T3, GH (Omnitrope cartridges). All the compounds are 100% legit as i get them all from pharmacy except the anabolics that come from a source i trust but know its still not the best though (test e is pharma though).

How would you set a cycle with these compounds (all or some of them) to reach the goals stated above in a 2 to 3 months span with the least side effects and the most benefits?

Also i used igf1 lr3 in the past (us based musclechemadvancedsupps)… and even if it took 10 days to reach me (im based in france) it still worked well (it came already constituted so it may have played in preserving it) i really loved the effects and i’m really interested into adding this compound too but sourcewise i’m aiming at an uk source that a fellow performer recommended . But i wanted to have your opinion on the matter… is it worth the hustle and whats the best use of it (taken alone with the cycle or stacked with MGF ).

Thank you for your time and precious answers.

    Answer

Hey Ayoub thank you for your time and for jointing the site!

Can you let me know what types of cycles you have previously ran that will really help me assess things further here. Just at face value to answer the initial question yes I would work my initial test dosage up first before adding anadrol.

    Question from Darren

    Hi Matt,

New to the site, loving the content already!!

In terms of an off-season cycle, is there a specific time period you tend to run it before taking a break/going back to TRT levels and back on again or what do you base this on?

Currently running 600mg Sust, 300mg EQ and 300mg primo per week.

    Thanks!

    Answer

Hey Darren thank you I normally like to do my best to make the most out of the first 12-16 weeks I would advise starting out a cycle in a lean state you will for sure get more out of it that way! Check out the current series on the best environment for physique development that will help you out a lot!

    Question from Luki

Hi Matt, thank you for answering my previous question. I have another one on thyroid hormones. ? I am in replacement therapy (I know you are similar from what I remember) I use 30mcg t3 and 150mcg t4 these doses give me the result in the upper normal range. The question here, in the preparation phase for the competition, I have always tried to keep T3 in the high limits, do you think that it is beneficial to increase the dose so that t3 is slightly above the top of the norm in the cutting phase?

    Answer

Hey Luki – the absolute best way to navigate this is by blood work so during prep that is what I would suggest. I would sometimes bring up 12.5 but in men I rarely go over that point of 37.5 most guys I do not even use at all so for you that would be like 12.5 which cab be helpful

I received some good news yesterday that my incision wound had closed enough that I was able to get stitches yesterday in it and now can start progressing with my rehab process. I am going to an in person facility tomorrow to check them out and see what they are able to do with me.

I really appreciate your patience during this time

    Hey Justin

Honestly man this is something I would commit 3-4 months of your time to doing one approach and then go to the other approach for the same amount of time and see how you respond. For me personally with my upper body work the closer that I can hit a true failure set point around 8 reps the more responsive I feel my body is and the less energy wasted I have during that set. Ultimately its about reaching a near failure set point so I would rather do that around 8 where the reps get much harder much faster than around 15 where I am doing reps that are a lot easier for most of the set.

    Hey Patrik

Sorry for the delay I am coming back to everything now post Surgery.

Comes down to a few things for me

    1. Finding the best movements that work for you, you do not need a ton. Possibly you are doing too many sets, not allowing enough recovery or having too much exercise selection.

    2. Finding movements that you can really do your best to keep your humerus in a fixed position or at least not a lot of forward travel (when applicable)

    3. Really honing in on form and aiming to make each rep as effective as possible on the intended muscle. If something is not growing refine form first then look at Volume dont just add volume with poor form.

    Hey Christian

I am sorry for the delay just a little slow getting back to everything post surgery

Its not that you are doing high volume per exercise but the amount of demanding max effort single set exercises per workout are high. You just really need to be in tune with the level of which you are progressing and if you are not progressing you might need to pull your exercise selection back a little further OR switch a few compounds within this many exercises for a few more single joint movements to help facilitate recovery further.

First off I am sorry for the delay it has taken me a bit to get back into everything post surgery.

I 100% agree with your thoughts I would still put your body through phases to continue to be able to progress at a faster rate rather than getting stagnant.

I am actually doing a new education series on this now that I really feel could help you out!

We need to keep our body in a place of processing nutrients and being responsive to food the leaner environment you can stay in while keeping performance high the better off this process will be.

    Question from Luki

Matt what do you think about micro dosing of short insulin during offseason when carbohydrates are high and in addition goes gh which is known to not have a positive effect on insulin sensitivity. For example, we have a meal, meal 120-140g carbohydrates and we add 4-6iu humlog to it to relieve the pancreas a little work and it did not have to produce so much insulin. I am also thinking about a super heavyweight bodybuilder snaking 300+ pounds for offseason

    Answer

Luki this is not a bad approach but I do think there is a better way, your pancreas does a great job at doing this on its own if there is a need due to food you are needing to improve I would base this off of your pre meal blood sugar levels and levels again about 90 min post meal then base your dosages on the lower end of the spectrum based off of your blood sugar response. Add insulin to a set diet do not just throw excess food at the insulin

    Question from Killian
    Hey Matt,

I did a small dose cycle of test (400mg/week) a year ago and still struggle with back acnea problem.. It occured while I was doing my cycle and still hadn’t cleared up even tho I got it checked and followed by my dr. It’s almost gone, but still got a lot of scars… Also had a bit of gyno but that cleared up totaly a few weeks post cycle.

I was wondering what would you recommend me to do if I’m thinking of doing anabolic again? My estrogen is pretty high and I’m acne prone… So I’m not sure at all what to do… What do you say?

    Thank you!

    Answer

In this case my best suggestion without seeing blood work is that you need to run an anti estrogen alongside your cycle, again best way to approach this is based off of needs of blood work. I would recommend aromasin. At 400mg somewhere between 12.5mg of aromasin 2-3x weekly should suite you well spaced out evenly through the week.

    Question from Kevin

Hey Matt, why would GH timing away from food matter since is exo GH? I understand if we were talking about peptides…

    Answer

Kevin because exo GH increases fasted blood sugar as is and will continue to increase at a faster rate when combined with food.

    Question from Felix

    Hi @Matt Jansen,

question: I’ve been bulking from january to april and cutting from may till now (until the beginning of august). the whole time I’ve been on 750mg test-e per week (so 7 months right now). I’m on TRT since 2016, every year I’ve been blasting for about 7-8 months (every year sligthly increased dosage from 350 back in 2016 to 750mg/week this year). Never used anything else than test-e.

My response to gear is shitty compared to most of my peers. I’ve trained naturally for about 12 years before going on TRT, I’ve been 175lbs(5’9) @8% before starting TRT, now I’m at 185lbs @8% bodyfat. So I went from a good natural lifter to a shitty enhanced one I guess, only put on 10lbs in 3 years blast and cruise with test-e. My training (low vol/high intensity inspired by JP/you) is on point, so is diet – I’ve been doing this for 15 years now and came quiet far as a natural.

My goal is to put on 7-10lbs more in the next 2-3 years. I don’t want to use deca or tren, primo is not available, the only things I have access to besides my test (straight from the pharmacy) is dbol and possibly anavar.

How would you progress? A) just bump up the test as before (next step would be 1g, which is quiet high for my bodywheigt…) for my next bulk or B) test again at 750 or decrease to 500 and add in dbol @30mg/day?

Also after my cut now would you go back to TRT immediatly (my TRT dose is 160mg of test-e) or blast for a few more weeks @750mg or even increase to add a bit of size during the rebound (as I’m right now as lean as never before)? Again I’ve been on 750 test only for 7 months, did bloodwork 2 weeks ago, everything is in range, test only doesn’t seem to impact my bloodwork much..

    thanks!

    Answer

This is a great question! I would honestly add in anavar next which you will need to monitor your lipids and liver values but Var is one of my favorite things to add to a cycle. This was one of the first compounds I used myself after test – mast – then var was next and I saw very markable changes on it. I would start at 30-40mg and see what you can get off of that first if you are continuing to want to get the most out of the least

    Hey John

I am a little lost as to exactly what you are asking here.

Do you mind just breaking up your questions in terms of

    1.

    2.

    3.

So I can better help you

I am not sure if you are saying when you are just on test you are on HCG as well or what exactly
