Hey Nick – Good question man! I honestly trained like this a lot  during my prep and for my first 8 weeks coming out of my show where I was doing sets of 8 building up until I could not get 8 reps. I like training like this and when max strength has taken a hit its a great way to approach things. Now that my max strength is there IE greater than it was during those environments this is how I approach things for sets where I am aiming to really load.

For instance yesterday I was aiming to hit a top set of 6 on Barbell RDL so this is how it looked
